This is an official Auchentoshan distillery bottling, distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2014 at 25 years old and 47.6% ABV. Only around 171 bottles were filled.
The whisky is triple distilled. It matured first in bourbon casks and then received a finish in Bordeaux wine casks.
The nose is usually described as ripe red fruits, cherry, plum, soft oak and floral notes. The palate is full, with red fruit, cocoa and spice, and the wine influence sits well within the whisky. The finish is long and warm, slightly dry, with fruity and woody notes.
