Auchentoshan – 1999/2022 22 Year Old Signatory Vintage Cask Strength Collection (70cl, 55.6%)

This Lowland single malt was distilled at Auchentoshan on 26 October 1999 and bottled on 12 April 2022 by Signatory Vintage, as part of its Cask Strength Collection. It is bottled at 55.6% ABV, without colouring or chill-filtration, and 696 bottles were filled from cask number 3. The whisky matured first in refill bourbon barrels, then spent 20 months finishing in a fresh sherry butt. The tasting notes describe a nose of dark fruit, vanilla, caramel, floral hints and malt. On the palate come grapes, wild berries, sweet malt, vanilla, liquorice and spicy oak. The finish is long, sweet and strong.
