Auchentoshan 24 Year Old Noble Oak is a Lowland single malt, triple distilled and aged for 24 years in American and French oak casks. It is bottled at 48% ABV.
The two oaks play different parts. French oak adds tannin, spice and structure, while American oak brings vanilla sweetness and soft caramel.
The nose offers polished oak, vanilla pod, honey, dried apricot and orange peel, with leather and a little floral note. The palate is layered, with vanilla cream, toffee, dried fruit, citrus zest and nutmeg. The finish is long and dry, with lingering oak, gentle spice and citrus oils.
