Auchentoshan – Blood Oak (1L, 46%)

A triple-distilled Lowland single malt from Auchentoshan, part of the distillery's Travel Exclusive range. It matured in bourbon and red wine casks, and the name refers to the reddish tones this gives. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 1 litre bottle, non-chill-filtered, and comes in a metal tin inspired by the Glasgow skyline. Red fruit and ginger sit alongside vanilla and citrus. The nose combines vanilla and coconut with lively citrus. The palate is rich and soft, with raspberries, plums and maraschino cherries meeting vanilla and fresh notes. The long finish leaves red currants and the lingering warmth of spicy oak.
