Auchentoshan – Dark Oak (1L, 43%)

Auchentoshan Dark Oak is a triple-distilled Lowland single malt from the Travel Exclusive Range, in a 1 litre bottle at 43%. It matures in bourbon casks together with two kinds of sherry cask, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez. The character is sweet and nutty, with wood, fruit and floral notes. The nose combines nuts and toffee with coconut, vanilla and gentle oak spice, while freesia, red berries and strawberries add to the sherry character. The palate is sweet and spicy, with roasted hazelnuts, brittle, toffee, crème caramel, candied apple and sugared almonds, plus a hint of liquorice. The finish is sweet and floral, with honeysuckle and caramel bars.
