Auchentoshan Three Wood is a triple distilled Lowland single malt without an age statement, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in three types of cask in turn: American Bourbon, then Spanish Oloroso sherry, and finally Pedro Ximenez sherry. The result is described as rich and complex, with toffee and sherry flavours.
The nose brings blackcurrant, brown sugar, orange, plum and raisin. On the palate come fruit and syrup, hazelnut with hints of cinnamon and lemon, and a butterscotch sweetness. The finish is fresh and fruity, with a long, oaky sweetness.
