Auchentoshan Three Wood is a Lowland single malt from Glasgow, triple-distilled and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It carries no age statement.
It matures in three kinds of cask: American ex-bourbon, Spanish Oloroso sherry and Spanish Pedro Ximénez sherry. Together they give a fruit-led profile of dark fruit, sweet spice and oak. The whisky is chill-filtered and coloured.
The nose offers blackcurrant, brown sugar, orange, plum and raisin. On the palate, fruit and syrup meet hazelnut, a touch of cinnamon and lemon, and butterscotch. The finish is lively, fruity and soft, lasting with sweet oak, malt and toasted hazelnuts.
