This is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon from Augusta Distillery, bottled from a single barrel, number 26-85/207, at cask strength. It is 59.15% (118.3 proof), unfiltered, and comes in a 75cl bottle. Wheat takes the place of rye in the recipe, which makes for a softer, more rounded bourbon. The nose shows honeyed grain, fresh-baked bread and vanilla cream, with orchard fruit, soft toasted oak and baking spice. The palate combines antique wood, wet soil and dry corn over honeyed vanilla. The finish is creamy caramel and sweet vanilla, with soft spice and a gentle toastiness.
