Bailie Nicol Jarvie is a blended Scotch whisky from the 1990s, bottled at 40% abv with a minimum age of 8 years. Produced by The Glenmorangie Company, formerly Macdonald & Muir, it was relaunched in 1994 and discontinued in 2014.
The blend is about 60% single malt from the Highlands, Islands and Speyside, with grain whisky from Girvan.
The nose offers stewed apple, malted barley and nubuck leather, with cinnamon, nutmeg and lemon zest. The palate is soft and clean, with tangerine and orange peel, hazelnut and almond, toffee and honey, and a salty maritime edge. The finish is soft and juicy, with a smoky, salty echo and a touch of peat.
