Balblair – 18 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Balblair 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the distillery at Edderton, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. The whisky matures in two stages: first in ex-bourbon casks of American oak, then in first-fill Spanish oak butts. This second stage adds sweetness and spiced wood notes to the fruity character of the distillery. On the nose there is strong toffee and baked pears, with new leather behind. The palate brings juicy apricot, vanilla cream and spiced oak. The long, warming finish leaves notes of spice and raisins.
