This is the second release of the Balblair 2000 vintage, a single malt released in 2017 and sold in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sherry casks.
The nose leads with honey sweetness, raisins and baked caramel apples, followed by dark chocolate, crème brûlée and a hint of winter spices. The palate is sweet and full-bodied, with seasoned fruit cake, sticky toffee, fresh vanilla and a thread of lime honey. The finish is warm, lingering and spicy.
