A single malt Balblair from Dram Mor, distilled in 2012 and bottled at 54.8% ABV after 8 years of maturation. It spent 8 years and 7 months in a refill bourbon cask, then a further 4 months in a first fill PX sherry cask. This is cask 359004.
The nose is sweet nut brittle and gentle vanilla with stewed pear, green tea and ginger. The palate moves from oaky sweetness to muscovado sugar, stewed red pear and sultanas. The finish is fresh mixed spice fading to a warm, tropical, woody note.
