Balblair 25 Year Old is a Highland single malt bottled at 46%. It matured first for a long period in ex-bourbon American oak casks, then in first-fill sherry casks. The colour is copper. Balblair was founded in 1790 by John Ross in the Northern Highlands.
Dried apricots and liquorice stand out on the nose, with a little wood and wax. The palate brings citrus, praline and a light note of tobacco leaf. The finish is long and smooth, with chocolate and blood oranges.
