Balcones – Texas Single Malt (70cl, 53%)

A single malt from Balcones in Waco, Texas, made from Scottish Golden Promise barley. The spirit is distilled in copper pot stills and matured in oak casks chosen for this bottling. Each batch is assembled from whiskies of different distillation years and cask types, so cask selection is central to it. It is bottled at 53% in a 70cl bottle, without added colour or chill-filtering. The nose has ripe stone fruit with a buttery note, banana and pear, with honey and citrus. The palate recalls toasted bread with fresh butter and marmalade. The finish keeps toast and burnt sugar, with strong malt and spicy oak.
