A 17 year old Speyside single malt from Balmenach, distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2024 by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society at 54.2% ABV. Its bottle code is 48.164 and its name is Dark Fruit Feedback Loop. 511 bottles were produced for the international market. After 13 years in bourbon hogsheads, the contents of two of them were combined in a first fill oloroso sherry butt to finish. The nose brings raspberry jam, a rum-like worm tub funk, cinnamon, ginger and clove-studded baked apples, with treacle and crushed hazelnuts. On the palate come hessian, orange muscat wine, fennel seed and salted liquorice, and the aftertaste carries soft spices and dark fruits.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
