This is a limited edition 12 year old single malt from Balvenie, bottled at 47.5% ABV. It was created to honour the Balvenie 88 Year Old, the oldest whisky ever released, which was distilled in 1931.
The whisky is made from 100% home malted barley and finished in sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. The malt master used techniques, from malt to cask, similar to those behind the 88 Year Old.
