The Balvenie Double Wood 12 Year Old is a twelve-year-old whisky from a small Speyside distillery, in a 70cl bottle with a gift box.
As the name suggests, it is matured in two stages. After a period in oak casks, the whisky is moved into Oloroso sherry casks, where it carries on developing. Master blender David Stewart, who has several decades of experience, decides when the first maturation ends and the transfer is made.
The whisky is known for a honeyed, spiced character.
