Balvenie – 12 Year Old Double Wood (70cl, 40%)

Balvenie Double Wood is a 12 year old Speyside single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is chill-filtered and has added colouring. The whisky first matures in traditional ex-Bourbon casks, then receives a finish in sherry casks made from European oak. This double maturation is what gives it its depth. It is typically described as having sweet sherry notes, spiced wood and a gentle honey sweetness, in a mild and balanced style.
