Balvenie – 12 Year Old The Sweet Toast of American Oak (70cl, 43%)

Balvenie The Sweet Toast of American Oak is a 12 year old Speyside single malt bottled at 43%, in a 70cl bottle. It began with an apprentice malt master's wish to make a fruitier, sweeter Balvenie. The idea was to import virgin oak casks from Kentucky and toast them heavily in the distillery's own cooperage. These casks are then filled with Balvenie whisky that has already matured in former bourbon casks. The result is a complex malt, described as having notes of candied fruit and soft vanilla. Colour has been added and the whisky is chill-filtered.
