Balvenie – 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask (70cl, 43%)

Balvenie Caribbean Cask is a 14 year old single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in traditional oak whisky casks and then finished in casks that previously held rum. Malt Master David Stewart blended West Indian rums for the finish. Once he judged the casks ready, the rum was emptied out and replaced with 14 year old whisky, so the wood could add its final touch. The nose is rich and sweet, with creamy toffee and fresh fruit. The palate brings round vanilla and sweet oak, with fruity rum character developing. The finish is exceptionally long, soft and fruity.
