Balvenie – 14 Year Old Week of Peat (70cl, 48.3%)

Week of Peat is a 14 year old Balvenie single malt from Speyside, bottled at 48.3% in a 70cl bottle. It is the second part of the three-part The Stories of Balvenie. It comes from a visit to Islay by distillery manager Ian Millar, who afterwards ordered a batch of peated malt. Since then, one week each year is given over to distilling peated Balvenie. The palate is soft and round, with peat smoke, citrus fruit, vanilla, floral honey and oak. In the finish, peat smoke and creamy, sweet vanilla stay in balance.
