Balvenie – 17 Years Double Wood (70cl, 43%)

This is a 17-year-old single malt from Balvenie, matured in two types of cask. The first maturation took place in American oak, the second in European sherry casks. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 43%. The distillery was built in 1892 by William Grant and his sons and is still family owned. It stands close to Glenfiddich and shares the same spring. William Grant bought the surrounding land to protect the water supply. New Balvenie Castle supplied the stone for the building and gave the distillery its name.
