An 18 year old Balvenie from the 2005 vintage, bottled in 2024 as part of A Collection of Curious Casks. It comes from cask number 33, finished in French Pineau casks, and is bottled at 47.9% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose has toasted oak, delicate spice, butterscotch and ripe berries, with toffee, smouldering oak, crisp citrus and honey. The palate layers spice and sweetness over creamy vanilla and honey, followed by gentle oaky tannins, candied orange peel and roasted malt.
The finish is long and lingering.
