Balvenie 19 Year Old, also called Revelation of Cask & Character, belongs to the limited edition Stories Collection. It marks the craft of coopering, using oak barrels from Speyside and Jerez, under Head Cooper Ian McDonald, and reflects Balvenie's 125-year history.
The whisky was aged in European oak oloroso sherry casks.
The tasting notes give a nose of ripe fruits and caramelised orange peel with toasted oak and milled barley. The palate has currants, cherries and raisins, then chewy fig, rich cacao and a creamy nutty note. The finish is long and lingering.
