A 15 year old single malt from Balvenie, part of the Single Barrel series, in a 75cl bottle at 50.4% ABV. It was distilled on 25 September 1980 and bottled on 22 January 1997 from cask 12555, and it was released for the US market.
For this series the Malt Master selects casks that reflect the distillery's character, in particular honey, vanilla and oaky notes. Balvenie stands in Dufftown, built by the Grant family next to Glenfiddich, and its new make spirit is sweeter, more honeyed and very lightly peated.
