Balvenie – 21 Years Port Wood (70cl, 40%)

This is a 21 year old single malt from Balvenie, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. After its main maturation it was given a further period in Port casks that were 30 years old. Balvenie was founded in 1892 by the Grant family, who had already built the neighbouring Glenfiddich in 1886. The distillery has stayed in one family's hands throughout. It grows some of its own barley, has its own coopers and coppersmiths on site, and still uses traditional floor maltings.
