Balvenie 30 Year Old Rare Marriages is a distillery bottling from Speyside, in a 70cl bottle at 44.2% ABV. Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE married hand-picked whiskies from American and European oak, all matured for at least three decades. It is bottled without added colouring.
The long maturation in different oak casks gives a balance of sweetness, fruit, spice and fine wood notes.
The nose has creamy blossom honey with warm cinnamon, malt, almonds and a touch of sherry. The palate brings vanilla cream, sweet dates and honey sweets, with light tobacco and a hint of smoke. The finish is long and soft, carried by honeyed spice.
