Balvenie – Double Wood 12 Year Old (70cl, 40%)

Balvenie Double Wood 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt that has been on the market since 1993. It is made with the wood finishing method developed that year by malt master David Stewart. The whisky matures for at least 12 years in ex-bourbon casks, then spends a further nine months in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. It is then moved into large oak tuns for three to four months, so that whisky from the individual casks can marry. It is described as a soft single malt with depth and a wide range of flavours.
