This is a 12 year old single malt from the Balvenie distillery in Speyside, Scotland, in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured first in traditional oak casks and then given an additional period in casks that previously held rum, which adds depth to the whisky.
The nose is warm, with honey, citrus fruit and vanilla, along with a hint of spice. On the palate it is rich, with ripe peach, oak and a soft, sweet coconut note. The finish is long, with a light spiciness that fades slowly into gentle honey.
