This is a Bas-Armagnac from Baron Gaston Legrand, distilled in 1955 and aged in oak until it was bottled in 2014, at 59 years old. Bas-Armagnac lies close to the Pyrenees, and the house ages its armagnacs in Limousin and Monlezun oak barrels. Armagnac is distilled only once, and is brought down to its final strength with water. The palate is balanced and ample, with vanilla and wood. The finish is long, with notes of orange peel.
