Barrell Bourbon 12 Year French Oak Cask Finish is part of the Barrell Cask Finish Series, in a 75cl bottle at 54.25% ABV (108.5 proof). The base is a blend of straight bourbons from Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee and Wyoming, each matured for 12 years.
The blend then receives a second maturation in selected French oak casks of varying toast levels, a step that adds spice, nutty richness and earthiness. It is a small batch, limited release.
On the nose there are ripe pear, pineapple, dried persimmon, cinnamon donut and hazelnut praline. The palate has allspice, nutmeg, clove and creamy vanilla over lavender and sandalwood. The finish brings coffee cake, blueberries and leathered oak.
