Barrell Bourbon Foundation 5 Year Old

Barrell Foundation is a 5 year old bourbon blended by Barrell Craft Spirits from whiskey distilled in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee and Maryland. The blend uses Indiana whiskey of 5, 6 and 9 years, Kentucky and Tennessee at 8 years, and Maryland at 5 and 6 years. The derived mash bill is 73% corn, 23% rye and 4% malted barley. Golden amber in colour, it has a nose of honey, candied strawberry, dark cherry and grilled cantaloupe, with lavender, fennel, cocoa and cardamom. The palate brings maple pecans, dark chocolate and cinnamon, then tiramisu and cardamom cake in a full, creamy body. The finish is creamy and sweet, with cinnamon, toffee and vanilla pudding.
