Barrell Bourbon New Year 2023 is the fifth annual New Year release from Barrell Craft Spirits of Louisville, a cask strength blend of straight bourbons bottled at 56.77% (113.54 proof) in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered, with no water added.
The blend draws on bourbons from eight states: Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Wyoming, New York, Texas and Maryland. The components are 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10 years old and were matured in American white oak.
The nose is toasted oak, peanut brittle, caramel, praline and cinnamon. The palate moves from vanilla, caramel and oak to black cherry soda, nutmeg, cardamom and aniseed.
