Basil Hayden's Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl)

Basil Hayden's is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle. Booker Noe created it in 1992 as part of the Small Batch collection, aiming for a more subtle style of bourbon. It is a tribute to Meredith Basil Hayden, Sr., a rye farmer from Maryland who moved to Kentucky and began distilling. He used a higher percentage of rye in his bourbon, and Noe set out to make a high-rye mash bill with the same approachable taste. Tasters describe vanilla and a touch of fresh apple on the nose. The palate is light at first, with vanilla and honey, and moves into deeper notes of cocoa and hazelnut.
