A Kentucky straight bourbon from Basil Hayden's, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. In place of the brand's usual high-rye recipe, the mashbill is 63% corn, 27% brown rice and 10% malted barley.
After first maturing in level four char barrels, part of the bourbon spends about two months in toasted, uncharred barrels before being mingled back with the rest.
The nose offers sweet cereal, brown sugar, caramel and buttered toast. The palate is creamy, with soft vanilla, rhubarb, almond and baking spices, and the finish is gentle and short to medium in length, with brown sugar and quiet oak.
