The port casks bring ripe red fruit and a rounded, silky body, with the sweetness kept in check by gentle oak.
The nose offers raspberry, stewed plum and red currants with vanilla, caramel and toasted oak. The palate is medium to full, with dark berries, grape must, toffee and baking spice. The finish is long, with sweet spice, oak and fortified wine richness fading to a gentle dryness.
