A 23-year-old single cask rum from the closed Caroni Distillery in Trinidad, distilled in January 1998 and bottled in September 2021 at cask strength of 64% vol in a 700 ml bottle, limited to 248 bottles. It shows unusually fruity impressions for a Caroni, alongside burnt wood, leather, cinnamon and menthol, with an intense palate and a long, medicinal, herbal and smoky finish.
Tasting Notes
Papaya, bitter orange, blackcurrant, mango, burnt wood, leather, cinnamon and menthol.
Intense, with menthol, acacia honey, sour cherry, blackcurrant, papaya, bitter orange, strong chamomile or sage tea, thyme and incense.
Long, with medicinal, herbal and smoky notes.
