This is a heavily peated Highland single malt from Ben Nevis, distilled in 2019 and bottled in 2024 by Signatory Vintage. It is Edition #17 and the first in a new Signatory series of high-strength bottlings.
It was matured in sherry casks, so the sweetness and spice of the wood sit alongside intense peat smoke.
At 57.1% ABV, it matches the historic British 100 proof measure, the strength at which gunpowder soaked in the spirit was said to ignite.
