This Ben Nevis 14 Year Old was selected and bottled by Thompson Bros. It was distilled in 2010 and bottled in November 2024 at 51.3%, in a limited release of 417 bottles.
The whisky matured in two refill hogsheads and is described as fruity, mineral and slightly funky.
The nose is classic and exuberant, with an industrial note recalling some Jamaican rums, nettles, white chocolate, pencil shavings and ripe brie, and spice appears with time. The palate has dark chocolate, plums, green apple, peach and pear, with a waxy texture and chalky minerality. The finish is long, fruity and slightly funky.
