This is a 21 year old Ben Nevis from the Ingelred series, Whisky with an Edge, bottled by Blackadder at cask strength. It was distilled in October 2001 and bottled in April 2023, with 210 bottles filled.
The whisky spent 10 years in a bourbon cask, then a further 11 years in a Californian red wine cask.
The nose is gently sweet, with caramel, raisins and hints of citrus. The palate shows marzipan, melon and dried fruit. The finish is long and pleasant, with no bitterness or tannin.
