A single cask Ben Nevis bottled for Best Dram by Michel Reick. The whisky was distilled on 7 December 2012 and matured for 12 years in a first fill ruby port butt, a cask that had earlier held tawny port before being used to transport ruby port. It was bottled on 16 January 2025 at 57.8%.
The cask gave 540 bottles of 70cl, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
Blackberry, ripe fruit and milk chocolate show on the nose, with a little smoke, spice, green apple, nectarine and buttery pastry. The palate has fruity sweetness, ripe apple, white pepper, cherry, honey, malt and an oily texture. The finish carries fruit sweetness, pastry, blackberry, peppery malt, vanilla and orange peel.
