A 25-year-old Highland single malt from Ben Nevis, bottled at 52.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It comes from Claxton's, a family company that began releasing whisky from its own casks in 2015 and puts the balance between cask influence and spirit quality first.
The nose is soft and dry, with dried fruit, baked apple, ripe pear and a hint of orange peel. On the palate come orange, orange peel, apricot jam and yellow apple. The finish is long, with light dried fruit, a touch of mint and spice, and a last hint of Ben Nevis itself.
