Coire Leis is a Ben Nevis single malt bottled at 46%, drawn from carefully chosen bourbon and oak casks. The name is the Gaelic one for a rock formation on Ben Nevis mountain, at whose foot the distillery stands. The distillery dates from 1825.
The nose is creamy caramel and vanilla sweetness with a light touch of wood and barley. On the palate come ripe pears and apricots, then malt and sweetness. The finish is soft and creamy, with the influence of the cask clearly felt.
