Benchmark Old No. 8

Benchmark Old No. 8 is a bourbon whiskey named after the surveyors' marks known as benchmarks. The story goes back to 1773, when the McAfee brothers, James, George and Robert, left Virginia to explore the uncharted land that later became Kentucky. They travelled first by canoe, then overland along a native trail to the great buffalo crossing, and surveyed the ground now occupied by Buffalo Trace Distillery. The bourbon is a tribute to the pioneering spirit of those early explorers.
