A 12 year old Benriach from Speyside, a Best Dram bottling in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was distilled in November 2010 and bottled in January 2023, in an outturn of 244 bottles worldwide. It was matured in a first fill Oloroso hogshead.
The nose is dry and fruity with baked apple and orange, turning sweeter with fig, raisins and marzipan. On the palate it is full-bodied, starting with dry fruit sweetness of redcurrants and dark chocolate before moving to leather, oak and freshly ground coffee beans. The finish is complex, with more spice, cherry and flambéed apple, then unexpected smoke with malt.
