This is a 14 year old Benriach, distilled in 2008 and bottled in 2023 by the independent bottler The Caskhound. It was finished in a first fill bourbon cask and bottled at 54.9% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and uncoloured, and limited to 285 bottles.
The nose opens fruity and floral, with tinned peaches, dried flowers and pipe tobacco, then vanilla, honey sweetness and overripe fruit. The palate is creamy, with cane sugar, forest honey, light fruit, caramel and muesli with nuts, before a light dryness turns to the bitterness of a crème brûlée crust. The finish is medium, starting with chocolate and turning slowly bitter into oak spice.
