This is a 16 year old BenRiach, one of several wood-finished expressions introduced in the summer of 2010. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured first in ex-bourbon casks and was then finished in claret barrels.
The nose is clean and fruity, with stewed plums and damsons and sweet oak. The palate brings spiced fruit scones with a fig and date syrup, with fairly light acidity and mouth-cleansing fruit. The colour is a bright orange gold.
