BenRiach 16 Years The Sixteen is an unpeated Speyside single malt, matured in a selection of bourbon, sherry and virgin oak casks. It is made to a revised recipe of the earlier BenRiach 16 Years.
The character is built around a generous fruity core, layered with creamy malt and toasted spices.
The nose brings apple turnover with a little brown sugar, biscuity malt, a hint of apricot and plenty of toasted oak. The palate has silky layers of creamy barley, peach and apricot, leading to apple crumble and stewed plums. The finish has honeyed nuts, soft creamy malt, a hint of charred oak and warming woody spice.
