BenRiach – 25 Year Old (46%)

BenRiach 25 Year Old is a Speyside single malt made from a mix of unpeated and peated spirit. It spent at least 25 years maturing in four types of cask: sherry, bourbon, virgin oak and Madeira wine casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV and has a natural colour from the casks. Over that time the sweet smoke of the BenRiach spirit softens and blends with fruit, malt and oak, developing into a caramelised smoke character. The nose is typically described as smoked apricot, dark cherry chocolate and hazelnut toffee. On the palate come baked fruit, toasted oak spice, and orange and cinnamon spice, ending in rich caramelised smoke.
