This is a 21-year-old peated single malt from Benriach in Speyside, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in bourbon barrels and has a golden colour.
Authenticus was released at 21, 25 and 30 years old, and the range has since been discontinued.
The nose is full of smoke and peat, with honey, apples and herbs. On the palate, rich peat sits alongside honey, chocolate, raisins and oak, followed by well-balanced fine spices.
